Of course I totally underestimated the scale of the re-write. The fact that I am still working on the sequel doesn't help. What has really slowed things down however is that I keep getting ideas about a new novel in an entirely different genre. Clue - it involves serious world building!

Anyway, I got into third gear this week on the re-write and should make fourth gear by Sunday as I'm visiting relatives this weekend in Mayo. It promises to bucket down all weekend, therefore the trusty laptop is being packed.

On another note I am also packing this wireless/bluetooth keyboard that I purloined from my daughter. It's very nice to type on and works with my iphone. My plan is to weigh it. Then I will bring it with me and see how practical and functional it is to type on.

Why weigh it? Well I intend walking my third section of the Camino Frances in Northern Spain - possibly in September or May 2023. I'll be bringing my phone anyway and I reckon that I could leave the laptop behind and save a lot of weight in the old rucksack. The overall intention is to utilize the trip to hopefully work on the sequel, assuming that the re-write is finished by that stage. Dear God, I hope it'll be finished by then! Also, I hope to keep a journal of my trip and lastly I would love to flesh out the plot and various elements of the new project. We live in hope.
